Introduction

The Department of Applied Foreign Languages was established in 1996 and the four-year college program started in 2002. The teaching objectives are to foster students with foreign language skills, economic and trade professional skills, and computer technology knowledge.

The goals of the department are1. to train students to be talented with foreign language skills, economic and trade functions, and computer knowledge; 2. to improve students’ communication and expression skills in English and Japanese with practical business and computer courses; 3. to focus on students’ future employment needs; 4. to enhance students’ certificate pass rate in language proficiency exams, computer proficiency exams, and teachers’ certificate exams.

Research and teaching Focus

• 1.To train students with skills in foreign languages to enhance their skills in professional employment.
• 2.To encourage students to take exams in language proficiency exams, computer proficiency exams, and teachers’ certificate exams.
• 3.To work with local elementary schools,cram school and tutorial education institutions small and medium enterprises in order to increase students’employment opportunities.
• 4.To promote international exchanges, expend students’ global perspectives, and improve students’ professional competitiveness internationally.

Future development

Getting higher degrees in the Higher or Adult Education.

Getting careers in Business, Tourism, English Teaching, Language Translating, and etc.
